Yes, they knew it. They got a short description of my project from the CoCA. The language barrier was, indeed, a very interesting factor, because it forced us to establish a very physical contact. Although some of them could speak English, I found out that the language always became a kind of an invisible barrier, because people were trying to rationalize what was happening, and then they stopped feeling... >>
